Shenzhen Mawan School
Amid the deepening global energy transition and the pervasive concept of sustainable development, green campuses have become a core vehicle for advancing educational modernization. As a key infrastructure project under the context of Shenzhen-Hong Kong cooperation, the Mawan Nineteen-Unit Nine-Year Compulsory Education School not only serves as a critical piece in the educational framework of the Qianhai Cooperation Zone but also represents an exploration into the deep integration of green materials and campus environments. Leveraging its comprehensive performance advantages and eco-friendly attributes, Dongpeng Ecological Stone has been adopted as the core building material solution for this benchmark project, offering a replicable model for constructing green educational spaces in the Shenzhen-Hong Kong region.

Project Information
In campus public areas with high foot traffic, floors face constant high-frequency wear. Selecting flooring materials that combine high abrasion resistance with long-term cost-effectiveness has thus become a core requirement for such environments. Dongpeng Ecological Stone, produced via a one-time pressing method and vacuum negative-pressure rock-forming technology paired with high-quality imported raw materials, delivers exceptional physical properties. With a Mohs hardness of grade 5, it ensures outstanding durability. More importantly, as a through-body material, the product can be repeatedly refurbished and polished. When surface wear occurs from normal use, there is no need to replace the entire floor—professional polishing can restore both its smooth finish and functional performance, significantly reducing the lifecycle maintenance costs of flooring in campus public areas.
Spatial Application Effect
In applications such as transition thresholds between spaces, Dongpeng Ecological Stone first ensures smooth, chip-free edges during processing and cutting due to its high-density property. This characteristic provides a solid foundation for achieving seamless joints with walls and flooring. In the material selection for indoor and outdoor spaces at Mawan School, Dongpeng Precast Inorganic Terrazzo Sheets were chosen as the key solution for achieving "consistent spatial language indoors and outdoors," thanks to their far superior weather resistance compared to organic artificial stone. Unlike organic artificial stone, which may experience surface aging and yellowing due to prolonged UV exposure outdoors, along with fading and cracking after rainwater immersion, Dongpeng Precast Inorganic Terrazzo Sheets require no concern about these issues. They are fearless against sun and rain and can be reliably used in both indoor and outdoor areas.
Product Advantages
In crafting the detailed scenarios for the Mawan School project, Dongpeng Ecological Stone, with its excellent processing adaptability, combined with a high density of 2.5 g/cm³ and a flexural strength of ≥18 MPa, perfectly meets the customized requirements for elements such as upstands, windowsills, stair treads, and sloped grooves. Given the high-frequency use typical in school environments, the stain resistance of countertops is a critical factor. Thanks to its low water absorption (≤0.3%) and strong anti-stain performance, Dongpeng Ecological Stone greatly simplifies daily maintenance in campus settings.
